Characteristic of Soil Moisture in Indonesia Using ESA CCI Satellites Products

نویسندگان

چکیده

Soil moisture (SM) is one of the energy and water exchange main drivers between atmosphere land surface. The study aims to analyze soil characteristics in Indonesia on monthly seasonal time scales. analysis uses mapping ESA CCI SM satellite products mean daily from 1979 2016. results showed spatial temporal variability Indonesia. Sumatera has values > 0.3 m3/m3 almost throughout year. Besides, Java January April October December while 0.2-0.3 May September. In Borneo, value February June November December, July September are m3/m3. Sulawesi July, august November. Bali Nusa Tenggara have year, except <0.2 Sumba, Timor Island, Central Lombok Maluku Papua >0.3 Jayawijaya Mountain South Papua. product essential for monitoring

Using Python® language for the validation of the CCI soil moisture products via SM2RAIN

Remote sensing techniques provide a new way to obtain hydrological variables (i.e. rainfall and soil moisture), mainly in poorly instrumented areas that are fundamental for natural hazard assessment and mitigation. The even increasing availability of satellite derived products characterized by high temporal and spatial coverage requires the development of techniques and instruments for big data...

Soil Moisture Mapping from Satellites: An Intercomparison of SMAP, SMOS, FY3B, AMSR2, and ESA CCI over Two Dense Network Regions at Different Spatial Scales

A good knowledge of the quality of the satellite soil moisture products is of great importance for their application and improvement. This paper examines the performance of eight satellite-based soil moisture products, including the Soil Moisture Active Passive (SMAP) passive Level 3 (L3), the Soil Moisture and Ocean Salinity (SMOS) Centre Aval de Traitement des Données SMOS (CATDS) L3, the Jap...

Large scale evaluation of AMSR soil moisture products based on ground soil moisture network measurements

This paper presents an evaluation of AMSR (Advanced Microwave Scanning Radiometer) soil moisture products, based on the comparison with three ground soil moisture networks. The selected ground sites are representative of various climatic, hydrologic and environmental conditions in temperate and semi-arid areas. They are located in the south-west of France, in the south-east of Australia and in ...

Sea Surface Salinity Retrieval within the ESA Soil Moisture and Ocean Salinity (SMOS) Mission

The SMOS (Soil Moisture and Ocean Salinity) mission will provide from 2007 onwards global maps of soil moisture over land and sea surface salinity over ocean. The radiometry group of the Technical University of Catalonia (UPC) in Barcelona has been involved either in the definition of the SMOS single payload, MIRAS (Microwave Imaging Radiometer by Aperture Synthesis), or in the organization of ...
